You bring up many good points although I do think the structural disadvantages we on “the left” face are huge. We have to invest in local government, school boards etc. As for the purity tests, i argued with many Bernie supporters (and I was one myself) that we needed to stop fighting amongst ourselves. In Germany in the 1930’s the socialists fought the communists rather than band together to leverage power to defeat fascism.
